Irish raiders have carried off the spoils in this in the last three years and two of those winners, Maarek and Gordon Lord Byron, take their chance again. Great Minds and Gathering Power have also crossed the Irish Sea but there is a strong home defence this year led by Muhaarar, who has already won three Group 1 races over this sort of trip this season and will take all the beating if handling the softer going. Twilight Son puts his unbeaten record on the line again having progressed through the ranks. He only beat Strath Burn by a head in the Sprint Cup at Haydock last month but should again beat subsequent winners Danzeno and Eastern Impact as well as Gordon Lord Byron and Adaay. THE TIN MAN has only won a maiden and a couple of handicaps so far and has no form on this surface. He also has a lot to find on the form book but is improving at such a rate of knots that he could well take a hand in the finish. Further rain would bring Jack Dexter into the reckoning as well.
