ART CONNOISSEUR runs here in preference to the Norfolk and that decision from connections should be heeded. Michael Bell's colt has looked a really precocious two-year-old in both his outings so far and a low draw will enable his rider to attain an all-important rails position. This is his first attempt at six furlongs but the manner of both his victories indicate that it should not prove a problem. Himalya was well touted prior to making a winning racecourse debut at Doncaster, where he raced very green in the closing stages. Unlike the selection, he is proven over six and reports from Newmarket are that he has improved for that debut victory. Orizaba created a huge impression when scoring on his debut at Newmarket, and the fifth from that maiden has scored since. The apparent Noseda second string Awinnersgame could also go very well. A half-brother to Irish Guineas winner Saoire, six furlongs is on the sharp side for this colt, who justified odds-on favouritism at Haydock, a formline that ties him closely with Art Connoisseur. The fourth from that Haydock maiden has let the form down since. Shampagne has improved steadily with each outing, showing good pace to win at Pontefract last time. Richard Hannon has had a stranglehold on juvenile contests throughout the early part of the season and of this trio, Icesolator makes the most appeal. A fascinating renewal of the Coventry Stakes and Art Connoisseur gets the vote.
