In depth

Verdict

Several are course regulars and old foes. Vafortino came out best in this last year with Accidental Agent, River Nymph - who won this in 2021 - Fresh and Ropey Guest finishing immediately behind. All of the above are capable of figuring if at their best but a rejuvenated BARADAR is preferred. The latter made a winning debut for George Boughey at Doncaster in November and a tongue-tie is applied today having finished a creditable third in the Lincoln on his return. Stablemate Totally Charming was a beaten favourite at the Curragh in the Irish version of the Lincoln while the unexposed Kingdom Come has rattled up a hat-rick at Kempton this year including a defeat of subsequent Haydock winner Rainbow Fire. The latter beat Biggles on that occasion while Rebel Territory beat last year’s winner when scoring at Newmarket, though Spycatcher makes more appeal on the forecast ground.
