Julius Geezer's second at Ripon was a welcome return to form but Tom Dascombe's charge still looks too high in the weights. Kingscroft continues to defy the handicapper but may find this too sharp under a penalty, while Desert Law hasn't quite lived up to expectations so far this term and is likely to find at least one too good again today. That one may be top weight FIREBEAM, who is lightly raced and improving at a rate of knots judged by the way he made mincemeat of the opposition at York last month. William Haggas' gelding will hold his own in pattern company on that evidence and should have far too much for these. Azzurra Du Caprio just collared Eland Ally over this trip at Doncaster last time but has more on his plate here.
