    Verdict

The progressive Roulston Scar will handle the underfoot conditions but an 8lb rise for winning at York looks more of a problem. Aplomb has also won in soft going but could only manage fourth at Newmarket behind Dazzling Dan last time and the latter has been subsequently well beaten off today’s mark at Doncaster. Tinto has been raised 5lb for winning on fast ground at Yarmouth while Redcar novice winner Call Me Ginger makes his handicap debut along with MUBAKKER. The latter defied a penalty at Kempton on last month’s belated reappearance when returning an impressive wide-margin winner and Sir Michael Stoute’s progressive grey colt looks the one to beat if acting on the surface.
