In depth

Verdict

Monty Bodkin was no match for Celtic Dino at Ascot but that was a very solid first effort which he is likely to build on here. Farland was well backed on his debut at Punchestown in April and is now with Paul Nicholls but Union Avenue only won by a head at Kelso and narrow Uttoxeter winner Gamesters Guy is also penalised. Jaccours is a half-brother to winning stablemate Hourvari but THE NEW LION is a half-brother to four winners, including the useful El Presente, and is the most interesting newcomer.
