This will be a good test for these runners and, with fitness guaranteed, Glacial Evening gets the vote ahead of Just In Time, Deferlant and, possibly, Hautclan. The Bob Buckler-trained selection kept improving towards the end of last season and continued that upward curve by bolting up at Huntingdon on his latest outing Much as he has taking a big hike in the ratings as a consequence of that victory, he might still be worth following. French import Hautclan is one to watch out for in the betting from a strong stable, while Just In Time is just a pound above a winning mark now and, although he seems to prefer good or faster going, has won on soft. Deferlant has won two of his last three races and can be competitive again from a mark five pounds above his latest win. Caesar's Palace has won from a much higher mark, but that was in 2002 and more-recent form leaves him something to find. Finally, Peter's Imp comes here seeking a straight hat-trick of successes, but they have come at selling level and more is needed today. Overall, then, and despite that rise, Glacial Evening looks set to go well again.
