Verdict

A very competitive renewal with several arriving in good form. David Arbuthnot's stable is going well and he'll be hopeful that Urcalin can follow up an impressive victory at Kempton under a penalty. Bangor runner-up Sealous Scout and Sandown winner Ivy Gate are others to consider with Musselburgh scorer Aiaam Al Namoos, Lord Wishes and hat-trick seekers Looking Well and Cowslip also respected. Rally would also have a chance on his best form while Jennys Surprise was last seen in Grade 2 at Ascot and may have benefited from a break. Harristown seemed to appreciate the step up to 3m at Ludlow but, like recent Uttoxeter scorer Henllan Harri, looks high enough in the weights. KINGSMERE is also near the head of the handicap but he made a bold bid to win a decent handicap at Cheltenham last month for the second year running and this is clearly his time of year. Henry Daly's gelding is 4lb lower than when sixth in this last year so gets a tentative vote.
