PARSNIP PETE (NAP) beat another course and distance winner Surf And Turf here in October 2014 on much worse terms. He's also won a Grade 3 at the track off a higher mark and, though probably not quite the force of old, showed enough last time at Stratford to suggest a return to the winner's enclosure is imminent. Sir Note is in a rich vein of form but the grey will have to defy a further 12lb rise in a higher grade if he's to maintain his unbeaten record over fences and could face a battle for the lead. Herons Heir needs to bounce back from a fall at Fakenham while Haydock second Ballybogey may find things happening too quickly over this shorter trip. Vodka Wells looks best of the rest.
