Granville Island signed off last season completing a hat-trick. He loves the mud but is 9lb higher on his return to action. Katachenko is well treated but appears to have lost his way along with Bestwork. Ballyhill is only a pound higher than when winning a Grade 3 at the start of the year and a recent second over hurdles offered more encouragement while Chef D’Equipe ran well for owner/rider David Maxwell at Newbury. The improving LORD BRYAN won on soft going at Hereford and Chepstow in the spring and was a close third off this mark on his latest start at Market Rasen on ground that was quicker than ideal. Peter Bowen’s charge can make a winning return to action as this looks a big ask for Gavin Cromwell’s four-year-old A Place Apart.
