First-season chasers have a good record in this and a couple of novices head the weights. Kildisart has taken well to fences but tries 3m for the first time while Mister Malarky reverts to handicap company 17lb higher than his last success. DEBECE (NAP) has run well over hurdles here in the last two years. He’s only won minor contests at Newcastle and Catterick so far over fences but an opening mark of 141 looks reasonable and he could take some pegging back if allowed to bowl along in front. Touch Kick wasn’t disgraced off this mark at Cheltenham and the penny has dropped with Irish challenger Amaulino. Clondaw Westie props up the handicap but Aidan Coleman keeps faith with the Stratford winner. Polydora is also worth a second look but the mare Theatre Territory is now 0-10 over fences and the Hobbs pair, Springtown Lake and Reikers Island, may be too high in the weights.
