The three previous winners of this race had already been successful so that helps us to discard a third of this field immediately. Alan King has provided one winner and two seconds so stable first string, Call Me A Legend, goes straight on to the short-list to join Yonder and Zarinava who is preferred. Zarinava was punted down to 9-4 from 6s on debut but could only finish in midfield on debut on the heavy ground; the form of the race has worked out quite well. She put that record straight at the start of last month with a decisive success with the better ground enabling her to display her turn of foot. Conditions look ideal for this regally bred daughter of Daylami and her tactical speed could prove crucial. Yonder is held in high regard and connections are clearly expecting a big run having acquired the services of Mr McCoy. She has yet to tackle this trip but should stay and is unlucky not to be unbeaten. Call Me A Legend was slightly disappointing on her second start but beat a well regarded newcomer with something to spare last time and the pair pulled a long way clear of the remainder. Given her connections' record in the race she looks sure to go close but she may have to settle for the bridesmaid's role behind our selection, Zarinava.
