Two New England Patriots players are refusing to go to the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl victory with President Donald Trump.

Martellus Bennett confirmed on Monday that he would not go to meet the new President and on Tuesday safety Devin McCourty also revealed he would not attend.

Both say they do not agree with Trump's policies.

McCourt says he is not going because he would not feel accepted in the White House.

"With the President having so many strong opinions and prejudices," he said, "I believe certain people might feel accepted there while others won't."

Bennett told the Dallas Morning News: "I'm not going to go. It is what it is. People know how I feel about it. Just follow me on Twitter."

He later tweeted: "Be the change you wish to see in the world. If you want a world full of hate be hateful. If you want a world full of love be loving. America was built on inclusiveness not exclusiveness."
