Pittsburgh's Monday night loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. After a dismal week three performance, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin called this game 'Redemption Sunday'. The team came out fired up and Kansas City never stood a chance.

Stat of the night

22 - The Steelers had 22 points in the first quarter, a franchise record. Following their worst defeat in 27 years in week three, Pittsburgh were out to prove a point from the start.

The game

The Steelers got off to a blistering start, capitalising on Chiefs running back Spencer Ware fumbling the ball on the opening drive. Roethlisberger took over in Kansas City territory, and with his third play threw 31 yards to Darrius Heyward-Bey in the endzone. They immediately went for the extra point, Markus Wheaton catching the pass to give Pittsburgh an 8-0 lead.

No sooner had the Steelers offence left the field they were back, with defensive end Cameron Hayward tipping Alex Smith's pass into Jarvis Jones' path for the interception. Roethlisberger made no mistake, finding Antonio Brown for a four yard score.

And it was 22-0 before the end of the first quarter, Roethlisberger again combining with Brown, this time a 38 yard pass after Britton Colquitt muffed the punt to gift Pittsburgh great field possession once more.

The Steelers added another touchdown at the end of the second quarter, Jesse James darting to the corner of the end zone to complete an 80 yard, 10 play drive and give Pittsburgh a 29-0 advantage going into half time.

The night did not get any easier for the Chiefs in the second half as Pittsburgh scored on their opening drive, Roethlisberger connecting with Wheaton for his fifth touchdown pass of the night.

The Chiefs pulled back a score in the fourth quarter but it was far too late to mount a comeback. DeAngelo Williams then killed any momentum Kansas City might have had, running in from two yards to give Pittsburgh a 43-6 lead. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce added a compensatory score as time elapsed but the Chiefs will wonder what happened to the defensive performance that held the Jets to three points last week.

As for the Steelers, a return to winning ways will help to move on from their week three loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, and keeps the pressure on divisional leaders Minnesota Vikings, who play the New York Giants on Tuesday morning from 1:15am on Sky Sports 1.
