Hull FC scrum-half Marc Sneyd has signed a two-year contract extension at the KCOM Stadium.

Sneyd has committed his future to the Airlie Birds until 2019 after impressing for Lee Radford's side last season.

The 26-year-old, who was out of contract at the end of the year, produced a man-of-the-match performance as Hull claimed the Challenge Cup with a 12-10 triumph over Warrington Wolves last August.

The former Salford Red Devils and Castleford Tigers scrum-half was also named Hull FC Player of the Year in 2016.

"I'm really happy to be staying at the club and to take up the option," Sneyd told Hull FC's website.

"We had a good year last year and the whole team played really well, which made my job a lot easier.

"A few lads recently have extended their deals with the club and it shows that people realise how good it is here and what potential we have. Hopefully we can have similar success to what we had last year."

"I think his game management has been developing over the last couple of seasons and it's only going to get better.

"I know Marc has international aspirations and hopefully with some consistent form over the next couple of seasons, he can achieve that with us.

"He's a big part of the group and really seems to have found a home here. He's tasted some success last season and I know along with the rest of the group he's desperate for some more."

Hull FC began the new Super League season with a narrow 12-8 victory over Wakefield on February 12.

Radford's side return to action against Catalans Dragons at the KCOM Stadium this Thursday.
