Caroline Wozniacki continued her return to form by securing a semi-final spot at the US Open with a 6-0 6-2 victory over Latvia's Anastasija Sevastova.
The Dane, ranked No 74 in the world, will now play world No 2 Angelique Kerber in the last four, her first Grand Slam semi-final appearance in two years.
Wozniacki has reached the final at Flushing Meadows on two occasions, in 2009 where she was beaten by Kim Clijsters and in 2014 where she was beaten by Serena Williams.
And after overcoming Sevastova, who twisted her ankle in the opening point of the second game, Wozniacki is confident she can call on experience to progress further in the tournament.
"I always believe in myself, no matter what my ranking," said Wozniacki.
"I've beaten pretty much everyone in the draw before."
The former world No 1's resurgence has been a surprise to many, as earlier in the year she lost in the first round of the Australian Open, missed the French Open with an ankle injury and lost in the first round of Wimbledon.
After her quarter-final victory against Sevastova, Wozniacki dismissed speculation regarding retirement.
"I don't want to really talk about that now. When I feel ready to open up and say something, then I will. But for now, I'm just here to play this tournament," she added.
