Lyon bagged their first home win of the Top 14 season with an 18-6 triumph over Stade Francais at Stade Gerland on Sunday.
Lyon put of a massive defensive display in a try-less encounter but will be happy to take the four points, moving them off the bottom of the table and above struggling giants Biarritz.
The scoreline belies the true nature of the game as both teams attacked the match with positive intentions.
But, in the end, it was the hosts' superior discipline and the accuracy of full-back Romain Loursac's boot that proved the difference.
Loursac marked his return from a two-month injury absence by kicking four of his team's five penalties, fly-half Xavier Sadourny adding the other six points for the home team with a penalty and drop goal.
Stade's only response came courtesy of two first-half penalties from scrum-half Jerome Fillol.
