Edinburgh gained revenge over Ospreys at Myreside as a 24-16 win kept them on the heels of the Guinness PRO12's top six.
The home side shipped 62 points in Wales back in September, but it was a different story on home turf as they outscored the leaders by three tries to one.
That was good enough for a third straight PRO12 win, their latest success moving them to within a point of Connacht, who occupy the final play-off place with a game in hand.
New Zealander Jade Te Rure was in the thick of the first-half action, Edinburgh's trialist fly-half scoring all his side's points as they went in 10-9 ahead.
A lovely move started and finished by Te Rure was the highlight, but while he also converted his own score and kicked a penalty there were also two missed kicks and one notable loss of possession.
That slip eventually led to one of three first-half Sam Davies penalties, and Te Rure was replaced soon into a second half dominated by Edinburgh.
His replacement Tom Heathcote was a major reason for their control, his long pass allowing Tom Brown to dive over and after Ospreys prop Duncan Jones saw yellow Grayson Hart crashed through for another. Heathcote converted both tries.
It might have been different had Davies not missed a penalty in between those two scores, and by the time he converted Dan Evans' late consolation score the game was up.
