Worcester Warriors slumped to a 29-14 defeat to Bourgoin as their 100 per cent record in Pool Three was ended at the Stade Pierre Rajon.
After convincing European Challenge Cup wins over Petrarca and Bucuresti, Worcester came unstuck in testing conditions in France.
The home side powered out of the traps and flew into an impressive 13-0 lead after a converted try and two further penalties to leave Mike Ruddock's men reeling.
Worcester did hit back though, centre Alex Grove finishing off a slick move before Joe Carlisle added the conversion.
Bourgoin struck again just before the interval when hooker Remy Vigneaux crashed through the Warriors defense and scored despite huge appeals for a knock on.
The visitors recovered well from the set-back and Aleki Lutui broke the line and powered over. Carlisle's second conversion saw Warriors sense a comeback as the lead was cut to 20-14.
However, any such hopes were dashed as three penalties from the accurate boot of Benjamin Boyet eased Bourgoin into a comfortable 29-14 lead that they never looked like losing.
