Salford will be without New Zealander Robbie Paul for Friday night's Super League clash with Wigan.
Paul has failed to overcome a neck injury and his place in the squad for the trip to the JJB Stadium will be taken by fellow countryman Jeremy Smith, who has missed the last five games with a knee injury.
Speaking on the injury, Salford boss Shaun McRae said: "Robbie has a neck problem that flares up from time to time so he needs a week to rest it.
"We have no game the week after so he effectively gets a fortnight off so he should be fine for the game after that."
Salford have recalled winger Darrell Goulding, who is on loan from Wigan but was ineligible to play in last Friday's Challenge Cup quarter-final against the Warriors.
Wigan welcome stand-off Tim Smith back from compassionate leave in Australia.
