Richard Mathers could make his Warrington Wolves debut on Sunday after recovering from hernia surgery.
The former Leeds and Wigan full-back made the move from the JJB Stadium to Wolves at the start of April.
But Tony Smith's side has yet to reap the rewards from his arrival while he has been struggling for fitness.
Mathers has been named in the 19-man squad for the weekend for the first time, though, with Simon Grix and Paul Rauhihi vying to replace injured second-rower Louis Anderson.
Warrington come into the game on the back of a stunning 58-22 rout of Bradford away last time out and will want to continue their revival under the newly appointed head coach.
The hosts proved victorious in all three of their meetings with the Huddersfield Giants last season and won the corresponding fixture 30-14.
But Huddersfield coach Nathan Brown has guided the Giants to the upper echelons of the Super League standings in 2009 following seven wins from 10 games.
And, despite getting turned over 34-6 at home to champions Leeds Rhinos last time out, the Giants will expect to get back on track at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Winger Martin Aspinwall and hooker Shaun Lunt come into the squad, with second-rower Andy Raleigh and stand-off Liam Fulton the only injury absentees.
Warrington squad: Mathers, V. Anderson, Bridge, Briers, Carvell, Clarke, Cooper, Grix, Harrison, Hicks, Higham, Johnson, King, Monaghan, Morley, Rauhihi, Riley, Westwood, Wood.
Huddersfield squad: B. Hodgson, Aspinwall, Brown, Whaturia, D. Hodgson, Robinson, Crabtree, Faiumu, D. Griffin, Lolesi, Wild, Finnigan, Jackson, Mason, Kirmond, Lawrence, Moore, Cudjoe, Lunt.
