Hooker Tevita Leo-Latu is missing from the Wakefield line-up with a broken hand, as is ex-Wigan prop Ricky Bibey with a rib injury.
So youngsters Jay Pitts and Kyle Bibb have been called up, while forward Matty Dale, who is on loan from Hull, will get a home debut.
The Wildcats will be looking to bounce back from a 58-12 defeat to Leeds Rhinos last Friday.
This defeat had ended a four-match winning run, which had begun after their last defeat away to the Warriors back on 28th March, when they went down 8-4.
Wigan news
Trent Barrett will lead the Warriors in the absence of Sean O'Loughlin, with
either Joel Tomkins or Harrison Hansen taking over at loose forward.
Darrell Goulding is back at centre, which will allow Phil Bailey to revert to the second row.
In more positive news, hooker Michael McIlorum returns from a five-match absence with a knee injury.
Wigan will be looking to build on last Friday's 38-14 victory over Warrington which ended a run of three defeats.
But recent history is against them, with Wakefield winning the corresponding fixture 32-6 last term.
