Hull KR boosted their play-off hopes, and dented Wakefield's in the process, with a comprehensive 46-14 victory at Belle Vue.
Peter Fox bagged a quick-fire brace in the second half to help Rovers clinch their first win at the home of the Wildcats since their top-flight return.
Prop Scott Wheeldon also went over twice in as many minutes in the closing stages, while Michael Dobson touched down once and kicked nine goals to finish with a personal haul of 22 points.
It was certainly an afternoon to forget for Paul Cooke, who gifted his old club their second try and only landed one of his three conversion attempts.
Dominant Dobson
Rovers broke the deadlock after just four minutes when Dobson accepted Ben Galea's neat pass and then showed clever footwork to reach the line.
The scrum-half added the extras and was also on target with the conversion attempt following Clint Newton's 22nd minute try.
The forward gleefully accepted a poor pass from Cooke, who grew up supporting the Robins in East Hull but left the club earlier this season, on the 20-metre line before galloping away to the other end of the field.
Wakefield briefly hit back through centre Daryl Millard, who seized on the loose ball following Newton's inability to deal with Ben Jeffries' high kick.
However, the visitors struck a crucial late blow towards the end of the opening half when Kris Welham touched down from another pass by Galea.
The contest was then blown wide open soon after the break when Fox struck twice in the space of three minutes.
The winger showed impressive pace and lethal finishing skills to burst clear down the right flank on each occasion, Dobson converting both from out wide.
Response
Wakefield responded with a try from prop Richard Moore which Cooke converted, before a Dobson penalty put the visitors 30-10 ahead.
Paul Johnson raised hopes of an unlikely comeback from the hosts when he dived over in the right corner with just over 20 minutes to play.
However the Wildcats were not helped by the loss of Michael Korkidas to a yellow card, Rovers also losing a man to the sin-bin as Rhys Lovegrove was punished for retaliating.
Dobson added two more penalties to put the game beyond John Kear's side before Wheeldon rubbed salt in their wounds with a late double shortly before the final hooter.
