League leaders St Helens are likely to start Sean Long from the bench for their derby clash with Warrington on Friday.
The former Man of Steel was set to be ruled out with a slight hamstring problem earlier in the week but has been included in the final 18.
It still means coach Daniel Anderson will be forced to try out a new half-back combination in the continued absence of Matty Smith.
However, Francis Meli and Mike Bennett return to the side after resting injuries for last weekend's 32-10 victory over Harlequins.
Warrington's injury list continues to grow with the addition of Paul Wood, Simon Grix and now Vinnie Anderson.
Wood will miss the Wolves' last two games of the season and the play-offs should they qualify after suffering a dislocated shoulder last weekend.
Anderson and Grix have both failed fitness tests although stand-off Chris Bridge could return.
Warrington are already without the suspended Paul Rauhihi while Paul Johnson, Stuart Reardon, Mike Sullivan and Mike Cooper are out for the rest of the campaign.
St Helens squad: Wellens, Gardner, Gidley, Talau, Meli, Pryce, Long, Fozzard, Cunningham, Cayless, Gilmour, Wilkin, Roby, Bennett, Graham, Clough, Fa'asavalu, Flannery.
Warrington Wolves squad: Warrington: Fa'afili, M. Gleeson, Grose, Bridge, Briers, Leikvoll, Clarke, Morley, Westwood, M. Gleeson, Parker, Pickersgill, Bracek, Harrison, Riley, Penny, Blythe, Mitchell.
