The Eagles, who famously won the Cup at Wembley in 1998, raced into an early lead and were never really threatened by their opponents in the all-Championship tie.
Tries from full-back Quentin Laulu-Togagae and centre Tom Armstrong and a goal from Dominic Brambani gave the Eagles a 10-0 lead in the first half.
Halifax centre Steve Tyrer pulled two points back with a penalty on the stroke of the interval to give the visitors a glimmer of hope heading into the second half.
But there was no way back after Laulu-Togagae went over for his second score 12 minutes after the restart.
Halifax's Rob Worrincy grabbed a try on the hour and Callum Casey also scored but Sheffield added further tries through Scott Turner and Menzie Yere, with Brambani kicking his fourth goal.
