Super League leaders Wigan completed their sixth straight win with victory at Salford in front of the Reds' biggest crowd of the season.
Veteran winger Pat Richards scored 14 points in a comfortable win watched by a crowd of 6,618.
The Australian crossed for two tries and knocked over three goals, with the other touchdown coming from Paul Deacon.
The Warriors should have taken the lead after eight minutes but Darrell Goulding spilled Martin Gleeson's pass.
Wigan's right wing duo combined again to threaten Salford but Ashley Gibson managed to push Goulding into touch.
Sam Tomkins was only denied by an ankle tap by Stefan Ratchford with Wigan in charge.
Salford's defence was finally breached 12 minutes from the break when Joel Tomkins fed Gleeson to send Deacon over for his first Wigan try since arriving from Bradford Bulls.
Richards landed the conversion to put the Warriors into a 6-0 lead, but Salford clawed back to within two points at the break when Stefan Ratchford's kick rebounded off Gleeson for Gibson to touch down in the corner.
Adamson was prominent for Salford but Wigan made it 12-4 after Richards swept round Steve Tyrer's poor tackle to score in the corner and tag on the conversion.
It was Richards' 14th try of the season and he did not have to wait long for his 15th, taking Sam Tomkins' long pass to stretch the lead to 16-4 on the hour.
A late penalty from Richards completed the scoring as Wigan continue to set the pace in Super League XV.
