Salford coach Shaun McRae will keep faith with the side that lost last week's opening encounter at Hull KR.
That means home debuts for for Jodie Broughton, Ashley Gibson, Daniel Holdsworth, Matty Smith, Steve Tyrer and Ryan Boyle.
Centre Willie Talau could overcome a calf problem in time to feature but Mark Henry (lower back) remains on the sidelines.
There is also still no place for the versatile Stuart Littler, whose record appearance run was ended in last week's 30-12 defeat at Craven Park.
Crusaders chief Brian Noble has included Welsh internationals Anthony Blackwood, Ben Flower, Elliot Kear and Lloyd White in his 19-man squad.
However, experienced prop Jordan James and hooker Thomas Lee are both ruled out of the trip to The Willows through injury.
Kear, who made his debut for the Welsh franchise against Leeds last August, is expected to come into the team at full-back.
Noble's side have lost their opening two fixtures of the season, going down to 34-6 to Leeds at the Racecourse and then losing 38-6 at Wigan last Friday.
