The 2016 Ladbrokes Challenge Cup final is heading for a sell-out according to the Rugby Football League.

Almost 70,000 tickets have been snapped up for the first ever final between Hull and Warrington at Wembley on August 27, which the RFL says is a record at this stage.

The lower tier is set to be sold out by the end of the week and organisers are confident of topping last year's 80,140 strong crowd for the final between Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR.

RFL marketing and communications director Mark Foster said: "After Hull FC's victory on Friday night, sales have been pretty much non-stop.
