Watch Castleford Tigers full-back Zak Hardaker discuss his side's 25-24 victory at Wakefield with Jon Wells at the touchscreen

Castleford full-back Zak Hardaker joined Jon Wells at the touchscreen following his side's last-gasp win over Wakefield on Thursday.

The Super League table-toppers found themselves trailing their local rivals 16-0 at the break, Trinity striking early doors through Ben Jones-Bishop, which was added to by the boot of Liam Finn and a further try from Kyle Wood.

Castleford, however, came out fighting and showed why they are serious contenders for this year's Super League title, scoring three tries in the first 15 minutes of the second 40 courtesy of Greg Eden, Grant Millington and Mike McMeekan.

Wakefield looked to have secured the victory as the game hit 73 minutes, a David Fofita try and four points from the boot of Finn pushing his side out to a six-point lead.

But there was time for one more twist in the thrilling encounter, Jake Webster barging his way over six minutes from time Gale levelling the scores with the conversion before sealing the memorable 25-24 win with a drop goal.

Speaking of the victory after the game, the 2015 Man of Steel Hardaker said: "We knew Wakefield were going to come out firing and we had a big emphasis on the start. We couldn't start any worse if we tried. We took all the pressure off ourselves and we played really poor to be honest.

"I don't know how we have managed to scrape the win there. The first forty minutes were pretty embarrassing from our point of view. We try to set standards quite high and we were pretty poor. Wakefield are really good at home and the fans really help them on. I'm lucky to be stood here and be a winner to be honest."
