Huddersfield Giants have signed Gene Ormsby on a one month loan from Warrington Wolves.

He could make his debut against Hull FC on Friday but will not be permitted to play against his parent club, who currently top the Super League table, the following week.

The 23-year-old, who can play on the wing or at centre, will wear the number 35 shirt for the Yorkshire club who lie bottom of the table.

Richard Thewlis, the Giants' managing director, said: "With Jordan Tansey having returned to Wakefield the opportunity for another outside back to come into the squad was there and we are grateful for Warrington in allowing Gene the opportunity to get some game time in Super League.

"As with the terms of Jordan's loan, the player is not permitted to play against his parent club but Gene is available for games versus Hull FC, Wigan and Leeds and will join the Huddersfield squad tomorrow for training."
