Rick Stone has been tipped to save Huddersfield's Super League status but Ashton Sims is planning on giving his former boss a rough start to life with the Giants.

Warrington star Sims will face Stone's Giants on Saturday, having previously played for the new Huddersfield boss at international level with Fiji.

Stone arrived just before last week's loss to St Helens and will finish off the regular season with a trip to the Halliwell Jones Stadium to face a Warrington side still in contention for the League Leaders' Shield as they sit just a point behind Hull FC and Wigan.

Sims won't do Stone any favours as he tries to help the Wolves finish the regular season on a high following last week's win at Castleford, but he expects his old boss to make an impact sooner rather than later at basement side Huddersfield.

"Rick Stone is someone I've played under before and it will be good to see him again because it's been a while," said Sims.

"He's the type of coach I like, a bit like Tony Smith. He's straight down the line and there's only black and white so you know where you stand.

"He's a good people person and he can get the best out of his players. He will be great for them, and we know that they will be very well-prepared for the game.

"There are three teams still in it to finish top so we'd love to do that. And although we've got the Challenge Cup semi-final coming up, our focus is on Huddersfield.

"They are the only team I've not beaten since I got here so it's easy to keep focused on them."

If Warrington are to claim top spot, they will need both Hull and Wigan to slip up, against Salford and St Helens respectively.

All three sides will be aware of the Challenge Cup semi-finals the following week but Hull hooker Danny Houghton insists he is not feeling the fatigue despite featuring in every game so far this season.

"Managing your energy levels is obviously key but most importantly it's about having the will to do it," said Houghton.

"It's all about how you approach it mentally and we don't really have anyone else who plays the position so it's a must for me.

"I love playing every minute, though, and have absolutely no problem staying out there. I feel great."
