Huddersfield prop Craig Huby is facing another lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a torn pectoral muscle that requires surgery.

The former Castleford forward missed the first six weeks of the season with a broken hand and has now been ruled out for at least the next three months following his latest setback.

"It's obviously bad news," said Giants coach Paul Anderson. "We all feel for Chubs because he's been doing it tough for a while now.

"And it also means we're again two props down for a number of months [Daniel Smith is also a long-term injury victim with a badly-broken foot].

"But that still doesn't give us an excuse for not performing at home to Leeds on Friday night."

Huby, who picked up the injury in the Giants' 26-19 defeat at Wigan last Thursday, will be replaced by Eorl Crabtree for the visit of Leeds on Friday.
