Injury-ravaged Hull FC are looking to snap a run of four consecutive engage Super League defeats when Wakefield Wildcats visit the KC Stadium on Friday.
Tom Briscoe is sidelined for two months with an ankle problem, while Motu Tony (knee) and Gareth Raynor (foot) will also be missing from the Black-and-Whites' back division.
Prop Paul King (eye) is definitely out and stand-off Richard Horne is doubtful with a foot problem.
The situation is compounded by the cancellation of Todd Byrne's contract. The Australian has undergone a knee reconstruction and would not have been able to return before his deal was due to expire at the end of the season.
Stuart Reardon, recently recruited to the KC Stadium from Warrington, is not being considered due to a lack of match fitness, although Mike Burnett (ankle) is back in contention, as is Craig Hall after being dropped.
Head coach Richard Agar has responded to his side's personnel problems by recruiting Leeds centre Jamie Broughton on a one-month loan.
Broughton, who played five times for Hull during a similar loan spell last season, could feature on Friday evening if his move is rubber stamped by the Rugby Football League in time.
Wakefield have no new injury problems following the hectic Easter period which saw them record victories over Castleford and Bradford to move up to fourth in the table.
The Wildcats are further boosted by the return to fitness of Danny Sculthorpe and Scott Grix, both of whom are named in coach John Kear's initial 19-man squad.
Hooker Sam Obst is away on compassionate leave.
