Hull coach Richard Agar can call on the services of Jordan Tansey after the utility back's arrival at the club was brought forward.
The 22-year-old has been at Sydney Roosters on loan from Leeds and was due to join Hull next season, however he will arrive in the North East as soon as possible after further negotiations.
He could go straight into the squad providing he receives the necessary clearance from the Rugby Football League as Agar looks to revive his side's play-off fortunes.
"We are hoping to get Jordan's paperwork through in time. He is available and fit and ready to play," said Agar.
"He is itching for a game to get started. He is a player that can add some spark and revitalise us in certain areas.
"He is very versatile and a good support player. He can make things happen out of nothing."
Thorman dilemma
Craig Hall could make an immediate return after being recalled from his loan spell at Widnes, for whom he kicked five goals in the Northern Rail Cup final win over Barrow on Sunday.
Agar will assess the fitness of Danny Tickle after the influential second rower played at Castleford in spite of a fractured hand, while he must also consider whether to retain scrum-half Chris Thorman in his starting line-up.
The former Huddersfield player was singled out for heavy criticism by some fans at The Jungle following the demoralising 40-18 loss at Castleford last weekend.
"Chris has not been in great form and it is hurting him, but I know he is trying," the coach added.
"As half-back, if you are playing behind a pack that is not on top life can be a bit difficult.
Crusaders are expected to be unchanged from the side that scored a rare defeat over fellow strugglers Salford last weekend.
