Super League leaders Leeds can open up a six-point gap by completing the double over Hull KR when the two sides meet on Friday evening.
After their lightning-quick start to the season, the Rhinos have, relatively speaking, gone rather off the boil of late - something readily acknowledged by coach Brian McClennan.
They lost their unbeaten home record when Wigan won at Headingley a month ago and injuries have also taken their toll, with five internationals ruled out of the trip to Craven Park.
"We have flattened off since Easter and we have recognised that we need to ramp things up a bit in training and in our games," said McClennan.
"Week one of that process started this week in training and hopefully we can continue that through to our games."
Hull KR went close to beating the Rhinos at Headingley on the opening night of the season, letting slip a 12-10 lead by conceding two tries in the last six minutes.
Justin Morgan's men have also taken nine points out of a possible 12 at home this year and victory on Friday will take them to fifth place in the table.
"Leeds are a very good side and we showed in the first game that we were able to be very competitive," said Morgan.
"We have improved a lot since then. We are still learning and I feel we have to be more clinical but we have proved we can score against good teams."
Leeds, who welcome back full-back Brent Webb, will not face their former player Chev Walker, who is out with a wrist injury.
