Paul Cooke will make his first appearance of the season for Hull Kingston Rovers when former club Hull visit Craven Park on Good Friday.
The former Black and Whites favourite returns after completing his suspension, with centre Rhys Lovegrove also in contention after recovering from a hand injury sustained in the close season.
Hooker Ben Fisher looks set to return after a two-match absence but another ex-Hull player, Chris Chester, remains on the sidelines.
Hull have no fresh injury worries ahead of the derby encounter and look set to stick with the side that beat Wakefield 18-8 last weekend.
Australian playmakers Shaun Berrigan and Adam Dykes therefore look likely to continue their promising half-back partnership.
However, loan signing Adel Fellous is still waiting to make his debut.
Coach Peter Sharp told www.hullfc.com of his hope that a good result might help relieve the pain suffered following last season's 42-6 derby thrashing.
"The hurt of last season will never go. KR played very well that day and gave us a rugby league lesson. Hopefully, this time we can play as well as they did," he said.
But Sharp refused to be drawn on a result, adding: "I think it is going to be a very good derby because their isn't a struck match between the sides."
