Huddersfield ran in nine tries in the process of heaping more misery on Salford with an emphatic 52-4 victory at the Galpharm Stadium.
The Reds have now conceded over 150 points in their last three matches, as the Super League strugglers slipped to a fourth consecutive defeat on Sunday.
Giants loose forward Stephen Wild scored against his future teammates, while David Faiumu grabbed a brace of tries and skipper Brett Hodgson kicked 16 points.
The rout was started by Danny Brough, who crossed the try-line after a fantastic solo effort with six minutes gone.
The former Hull and Wakefield man raced away from two attempted tackles before managing to break free of a third and touch down.
Wild then added to the lead in the 26th minute as he collected Andy Raleigh's pass and crossed under the posts, with Hodgson adding a simple conversion.
Pressure
The hosts continued to pile on the pressure, with Raleigh and Luke Robinson going close before David Fa'alogo took Leroy Cudjoe's rollback across the line for their third try.
Hodgson then failed to add the extras for the only time in the contest but Huddersfield still headed into the interval with a commanding 16-0 lead.
The match was firmly put beyond doubt at the start of the second half as the Giants scored three tries in eight minutes after the restart.
Faiumu, Kevin Brown and Larne Patrick all went over with Hodgson on hand for the conversion each time, as Huddersfield extended their advantage to 34 points.
The scoring was far from finished, however, as Faiumu grabbed a second try in the 64th minute before Lee Gilmour and Graeme Horne also touched down to take the total past the half-century.
Jodie Broughton scored a try at the death to finally get Salford on the board but it was scant consolation for the visitors, who still face the possibility of finishing bottom of the table.
