New Castleford signing Shaun Ainscough is poised to make his debut in Saturday's Super League game against Hull KR at the Jungle.
The wing, who was signed on a month's loan from Wigan this week, has been named in the Tigers' 19-man squad alongside academy player Jordan Thompson.
Utility back Thompson is in line for his first start of the season and would have covered for Brent Sherwin last week against Bradford but for illness.
Sherwin missed the Bulls game owing to a knee injury but makes the squad this time, although Kirk Dixon remains sidelined with his calf problem.
Richard Owen looks set to be out for the season after breaking his leg at Bradford, while Dean Widders is absent having undergone knee surgery.
Coach Terry Matterson has urged his side to put last weekend's 41-22 defeat behind them and display the sort of form they showed in the opening two matches of the season against Leeds and Warrington.
"I said at the time that we had set really high standards at Headingley and we weren't too far off that mark when we played Warrington, but last week we slipped and paid the price. There were some mitigating factors but we could and should have done better," he told the club's official website.
"The guys themselves were very disappointed and I'm sure that will be a big spur for them on Saturday because they are very determined to get back to winning ways.
Meanwhile, new Hull KR signing Joel Clinton, who was presented to fans at half time during last week's 30-0 home defeat to Huddersfield, has been included in their 19-man squad.
The Australian prop joins Shaun Briscoe and Josh Hodgson, with Michael Ratu, Paul Cooke and Ben Galea all missing out.
Castleford 19-man squad: Shenton, Evans, Wainwright, Chase, Sherwin, Sargent, Hudson, Huby, Ferres, Snitch, Westerman, Jones, Higgins, Jackson, Clayton, Netherton, Thompson, McGoldrick, Ainscough.
Hull KR 19-man squad: Briscoe, Fox, Welham, Webster, Colbon, Dobson, Lovegrove, Murrell, Wheeldon, Newton, Cook, Netherton, Fisher, I'anson, Vella, Hodgson, Watts, Cockayne, Clinton.
