Wakefield showed complete dominance in their 58-6 Challenge Cup demolition of minnows Barrow on Sunday.
Despite a valiant effort, the Cumbrian side was unable to bridge the gaping chasm between National Division Two and the Super League.
The hosts simply could not match the power and pace of the visiting Wildcats, who stamped their authority on the match from the start.
First Adam Watene was held on the line only for Danny Brough to score, and in the 10th minute Ryan Atkins smashed his way over before Scott Grix crossed not long after.
Nicky Beach kept the visitors at bay for a period by collecting some telling kicks.
And James Nixon was unlucky with bad bounces after Darren Holt twice kicked the ball behind the Wakefield defensive line.
But the Wildcats were never going to be held back for long and Kyle Bibb and Richard Moore soon had the score-counter ticking over again.
Determination
Matt Blaymire and Ryan Atkins both went over soon after the break but Barrow still refused to lie down.
Their determination in the face of overwhelming odds eventually led to the biggest cheer of the day.
Brad Nichols latched on to a crossfield kick from Darren Holt and found a way through the Wakefield defence to claim the home side's first points.
But Wakefield were not finished and further tries from Blaymire, Brough and Bibb took their score past the half-century mark.
