The four-year-old Dark Note was having only his third start over timber when losing second in the dying strides at Tramore so should show further improvement. Bowmore ran in a couple of strong maidens at the backend of last year and wasn't disgraced so has to be on the shortlist. ATREIDES came off worse in a barging match at Down Royal but was beaten just under two lengths and has the scope to go on to better things, though Johnny M has improved with each run and wouldn't need much more to get into contention while Noble Blue would have gone close at Down Royal but for a couple of late mistakes.
