Verdict

BATTAASH didn’t need to be his absolute best to win the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot on his reappearance but was still far too good for his rivals which included Liberty Beach, the pick of the three-year-olds in this ahead of Dubai Station and Al Raya, and Glass Slippers. The latter beat the selection in the Prix de l’Abbaye last season but the drying ground is not in his favour, though French raider Ken Colt is held on the form book. Ornate is well out of his depth.
