Marshawn Lynch has come out of retirement and signed a one-year deal with the Oakland Raiders.
Lynch originally announced his retirement on the day of Super Bowl 50 in 2016, when the Denver Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers. Lynch's final game was a defeat against Carolina in the divisional round of the play-offs.
However, after weeks of negotiations, both the Raiders and Lynch have reached an agreement on a one-year deal.
The Seahawks had owned the rights to Lynch, but general manager John Schneider said that both franchises had decided on a suitable amount of compensation - thought to be a late-round Draft pick in 2018.
Lynch's deal is a $3million, one-year offer, with a bonus of $2million if he can rush for over 1,000 yards, according to NFL.com.
There are no other teams vying for Lynch's signature, with the running back saying that he only wanted to play for his hometown team.
Lynch was drafted in 2007 by the Buffalo Bills and then joined the Seahawks in 2010, winning the Super Bowl in 2014, before losing Super Bowl XLIX a year later against New England in 2015.
Adding a veteran running back gives the Raiders experience at the position, alongside second-year prospects DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard.
