It appears that Dez Bryant has grown tired with the rookies taking all the spotlight.
It has been a season to remember in Dallas, where the first-year combination of quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott have the stolen the show. Both are contenders for Rookie of the Year honours, while Elliott is also in the conversation for regular season MVP.
However, the Cowboys have also had key contributions from their offensive line, defence, and pass-catching unit, and on Monday night against the Detroit Lions, Bryant took it upon himself to remind NFL fans that he could still steal the show when required.
The veteran wide receiver scored two touchdowns of his own - the first a one-handed catch at the edge of the end zone - and added 70 yards from only four catches.
However, Bryant also threw a touchdown pass! Taking the ball from Prescott, Bryant ran the end around, back across the offensive line, before connecting with tight end Jason Witten for the ten-yard score.
Dallas went on to beat the Lions 42-21.
It was fitting that Bryant passed to another senior member of the team in Witten, who has served the Cowboys for all 14 of his NFL years. The pair sent a timely reminder to head coach Jason Garrett that, when called upon, the old guard is still on hand to produce moments of magic.
