Miguel Angel Jimenez hits another hole in one, his third of the season, at the BMW PGA Championship

The remarkable Miguel Angel Jimenez added another record to his collection as he made yet another hole-in-one in the third round of the BMW PGA Championship.

The ageless Spaniard became the first man in European Tour history to record 10 aces when his perfectly-struck nine-iron at the 150-yard second hole pitched five feet beyond the pin and spun straight back into the cup.

Jimenez celebrated with his now all-too-familar Spanish dance amid rapturous applause from his adoring fans in the vast galleries.

The 51-year-old last week equalled Colin Montgomerie's record of nine holes-in-one on the European Tour when he aced the eighth on the second day of the Open de Espana, and he has now become only the third player after Eamonn Darcy and Elliot Saltman to make three aces in a single season.

Jimenez, who also achieved the feat in the first round of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship in January, is also the first player to make two holes-in-one in the BMW PGA Championship having aced the fifth in the final round on his way to victory in 2008.

The only bad news for the veteran is that there is no prize for an ace at the second this year, as Craig Lee found out when he holed his tee shot on Thursday, although Andrew Johnston won a BMW M4 when he found the bottom of the cup from the tee at the 10th on day one.
