Gary Woodland suffers some cruel luck as his ball cannons off the stands and into the water at the Valspar Championship

Gary Woodland was not enjoying a good third round at the Valspar Championship, and what happened to him at the 13th only darkened his mood further!

Woodland was two over for the round and one over par for the tournament when he arrived on the tee at the par-three 13th - a tricky 200-yard hole over water and ranked the second toughest on the Copperhead Course at the Innisbrook Resort.

The American was disgusted with his swing and dropped his club on his follow through as his ball sailed long and left, but at least he had comfortably cleared the water hazard ... or had he?

There was a resounding clank as the Woodland ball cannoned off the railings at the front of the grandstand at the rear of the green, and the huge bounce took it back over the putting surface and into the drink on the second bounce.

Woodland would end up making a double-bogey five, although he did managed his first birdie of the day at the next hole before completing a disappointing 76 which left him third from bottom on the leaderboard.
