Henrik Stenson sealed his second Race to Dubai title in four seasons with a strong finish to the DP World Tour Championship.

Stenson was one of four players who came in to the season finale still with a chance claiming top spot, with Danny Willett, Alex Noren and Rory McIlroy the other hopefuls.

The Open Champion posted a final-round 65 at Jumeirah Golf Estates to earn a share of ninth place, meaning the Swede ends the season as European No 1 for the first time since 2013.

Stenson finished 413,474 points clear of nearest challenger Willett, who led the standings for a large chunk of the season but struggled in the closing stretch of the season.

The Masters champion needed a top-five finish to have any chance of leapfrogging Stenson into top spot, but struggled to a tie for 50th in Dubai.

Matt Fitzpatrick moved up 21 places into sixth spot after birdieing the final hole to claim a one-shot win over Tyrrell Hatton, who overtook McIlroy into fourth position.
