Former Scotland international Scott Dobie has been released by York after failing to break into the Minstermen's first team.
The ex-West Brom forward signed for the League Two club in August following a year out of the game. Boss Gary Mills came to his decision following a behind-closed-doors reserve game in midweek. "We had a chat after he played 45 minutes on Monday and we are not going to take things any further," Mills told the York Press. "He's a great, honest lad who's given it a go but we just feel he won't be able to get to where we want him to be."
