Joshua: Joseph Parker's world heavyweight title defence is live on Sky Sports

Joseph Parker defends his WBO heavyweight title against Razvan Cojanu

Joseph Parker's world heavyweight title defence will be shown live on Sky Sports on Saturday.

The WBO champion, who has been touted as a potential opponent for Anthony Joshua, takes on Razvan Cojanu at the Vodafone Events Centre, Auckland, New Zealand.

Parker's first defence will be shown live on Sky Sports 3, from 11am, and the 25-year-old is looking forward to sending out a warning to the rest of the heavyweight division.

"I would like to prove to everyone I am the best and belong at the top," he told Sky Sports.

"But the case - for this and has been for all my other fights - is focusing on me and what I have to do.

"There is a goal to show everybody why I am the best heavyweight out there, but I have to focus on what's in front of me."

The men behind Deontay Wilder and Joseph Parker tell us where Anthony Joshua fits into their plans.

He was due to defend against Hughie Fury, only for Tyson's cousin to withdraw due to a lower back injury.

Romanian Cojanu stepped in at the last minute and although the 30-year-old heads to New Zealand on the back of a loss, he has a height advantage over Parker.

Tale of the Tape - Joseph Parker v Razvan Cojanu

"We always love showing world heavyweight title fights but all of a sudden this one becomes even more relevant after Joshua's stunning and epic win over Wladimir Klitschko on that magnificent Wembley stage," said Adam Smith, Head of Sky Sports Boxing.

"We know Joshua wants to unify and become the blue-riband's undisputed champion but Parker is young, hungry and has exactly the same aim.

"Parker is unbeaten and dangerous and will want to show what a force he is."
