Linares (41-3-KO27) also won the coveted Ring Magazine belt and Crolla (31-5-3-KO13) is determined to reverse the result.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, he said: "Linares is seen as the best lightweight in the world and I want to stake my claim to that title.

"I have to be smart ahead of the fight, work with my team and make the improvements that I believe will make a world of difference.

"Last time I came up short, there wasn't loads in it, but the right man definitely won. This time the result will be different.

"In the first fight he moved really well, so I need to cut off the ring better. I will come back bigger and stronger. Adding to my strength, power and speed will make me better all round and it will show under the lights."

Crolla is also glad to be bringing big fights back to his hometown of Manchester.

He continued: "The last fight was a huge night in the city and it is something that Manchester has been missing.

"I want to be involved in the biggest fights and bring them to Manchester where there is always so much support for me and I appreciate so much how everyone comes out.

"This time round will be even bigger than the last, but a different result. Linares is a cool guy, we will shake hands before and after the fight and go to war in-between, that's just how it is. It is no grudge match."
