Leo Santa Cruz has warned Carl Frampton he will have the perfect game plan to win their Las Vegas rematch.

The Mexican says his preparations and game plan were "confusing" and "frustrating" for their first fight as he tries to regain his WBA 'super' featherweight title on January 29, live on Sky Sports.

Frampton (23-0-KO14) was the first to beat the three-weight world champion in New York in July, but with his father and trainer Jose with him there from the start, Santa Cruz (32-1-1-KO18) insists he will not make any mistakes this time.

He told ringtv.com: "Since it was just me and my brother [for the first fight], we were practising the wrong game plan and when we got to the fight, my dad had a different game plan, so we got confused.

"My brother was telling to fight him one way, my dad was telling me to fight him another way.

"We got surprised, got confused and frustrated and I didn't know whether to listen to my brother or listen to my dad and do what we'd practised in the gym.

"For this rematch, my dad is here and my brother is here, and they are going to come up with one game plan and hopefully that will make the difference."

Santa Cruz admits he didn't push himself "that hard" in the build-up to the first fight and believes that with his father - who has been battling cancer - present throughout his training camp, he will win the rematch "easily" if he sticks to their tactics.

He is also full of praise for Frampton, who has moved out to Las Vegas a month in advance, and predicts the rematch to be another classic.

Carl Frampton is confident he will beat Leo Santa Cruz in style after spending a month in Las Vegas before their rematch.

"He's a great fighter, a great guy and a really smart fighter," Santa Cruz said.

"He has really great footwork, good punches, great power punches. I think he has everything.

"He is smart, he has great timing and I think he studied me for the last fight and I think for that fight, he trained his best and came in at his best. But for me, I wasn't at my best.

"If I come in my best and he's at his best it will be great fight and hopefully it is going to turn my way."
